Twenty-Five Years Of Serving Burn Patients and Families

By Marlena Wilson

Joseph M. Still, Jr., M.D. dedicated his professional life to improvements in the treatment of burn patients. For twenty-five years the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation has provided assistance to families of burn patients being treated at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital. That includes lodging at the Chavis House and daily meals and transportation – all free of charge. As the foundation celebrates their twenty-five years helping families, they are bringing an inspirational documentary to Augusta. The burn foundation's President and CEO, Jo Endres Maypole, shares with The Means Report audience the impact they are able to make daily and how you can see the moving story of several burn patients in the documentary “Trial By Fire: Lives Re-Forged”.
