It won't be due to luck that Augusta will be cleaner following St Patrick's Day weekend.
City officials say they are employing a full court press for picking up after this year's parade and festivities. That wasn't the case last year when two days after the parade there was still a ton of trash on Broad Street. City officials are promising not to repeat last year's mistakes.
“This year the administrator has told us it will not happen again make it make it work make it work right we've come up with a plan it's in writing everyone knows what they are suppose to do when they're suppose to do it and we're good to go,” says Deputy Administrator Bill Shanahan.
City workers will be working overtime to clean up downtown this weekend. There is no word, at this time, on how much this will cost the city in overtime.
