Augusta, GA (WJBF) — The GreenJackets begin their 25th season of play on Thursday night at 7:05 at Lake Olmstead Stadium. On Tuesday, they held a media day event at the ball park.
As always, lots of new faces on the roster including pitcher Chris Stratton, the 20th overall pick of the Giants in last year's draft. This year, the team also has a new manager.
After a year away from baseball, Mike Goff returns to the bench. Goff previously managed the Arizona
Rookie League Giants for three seasons (2009-11). In 2010, Goff skippered the
AZL-Giants to a best overall record in the league for a second straight season.

coached in the Seattle Mariners organization for 16 seasons. He served as the
Mariners' first base coach and was promoted to bench coach in 2007. Goff
has also spent nine seasons as coordinator of instruction for the team's minor
league system. He began his coaching career in 1992 with double-A Jacksonville
and spent his previous three years as an assistant coach at the University of
South Alabama. Goff was an infielder in the Boston Red Sox system from 1984-88.
