Gearing up for the Masters – it's not just Augusta National that's prepping for the week ahead – so are local restaurants. Crums on Central in Augusta is one of them. The owner tells WJBF News Channel 6 that, like many businesses in town, they're excited for the week ahead. And like many restaurants in town – they try to make it extra special for their out of town guests – adding more staff to accommodate the crowds and changing up their menus to add a little Masters flare.
“Every year it's grown a little bit more and more people that are coming in from out of town, know that we're here and hear what we're doing is a good thing,” said Andrew Crumrine, owner of Crums on Central in Augusta. “Phone calls have been up, I think people are coming, they see Tiger on the run, so reservations are coming in and people I have talked to are still booking houses and the restaurants are still taking reservations, so they're starting to get filled up, which is good.”
Crumrine says they'll be changing up their days and hours a bit. Normally they're closed on Monday's but this week they'll be open – and unlike normal – they will be serving dinner only.
