Urban Outfitters Inc. will open a customer care center in Columbia County, Georgia creating up to 400 jobs in the next 5 years. The customer care center will serve the retailer's direct business segments.
Urban Outfitters is a leading lifestyle specialty retail company that operates under brands including Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People, Terrain, and BHLDN. The company operates four distribution facilities worldwide to support its Direct, Retail and Wholesale business segments in the United States, Europe and Canada. The new Urban Outfitters customer care center will support Direct to Consumer and Stores.
“The new Urban Outfitters Service facility will be a modern, comfortable and exciting environment”, said Bryan Whitney, Urban Outfitters Contact Center Director. “The Columbia County location will play a significant role in Urban Outfitters' goal of building a unique work environment where we can assemble a team that believes in creating a compelling and distinct experience for our customers. Customer care operations are a growing sector in the Augusta MSA, due in large part to the area's talented workforce. This community also consistently ranks among the best places to live or relocate in the nation, making Columbia County attractive to potential employers. The Urban Outfitters customer care center will locate on Bobby Jones Expressway.

The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) collaborated with the Development Authority of Columbia County to secure this business opportunity for Georgia. GDEcD senior project manager Adela Kelley managed this project on behalf of the state.
