Nearly 130,000 people reside in Columbia County, and the number keeps growing, especially in the last decade.
So, how are Columbia County Commissioners dealing with the growth, when it comes to our schools and safety concerns? A local Commissioner has the answer.
“We've invested millions of dollars in a traffic control system, so you can go down Washington Road unobstructed for most of the time, if you drive properly. The school system is continually building new schools with the money from their E-SPLOST and state budget. We look at these as welcomed challenges. The worse thing would be that you don't have growth problems,” says Ron Cross, who chairs the Columbia County Commission.
