Two men are in custody following an early morning robbery at a convenience store in Columbia County, Georgia. Captain Steve Morris, with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, says a deputy pulled up to the gas pumps at the Circle K on Belair Road at 1:40 am, just as the clerk was calling 911.

Morris says the deputy radioed dispatch with a description of the suspects.  Another deputy saw the suspect's vehicle, a Honda Civic, on Belair Road. There was a brief police chase that ended on Casa Linda Drive.  One man was taken into custody. He is identified as 17-year-old Evan Terry Ramsey, the driver of a stolen car.

A second suspect, 17-year-old James Eric Gibbons, who was a passenger in the car, ran away from the scene. He was found by K-9 officers a short time later, hiding under a nearby porch.  Authorities say a handgun and cash from the robbery were found on the passenger floorboard of the stolen get-away car.
