Today is the National Day of Prayer.
People around the country will come together to pray for the nation. It's an annual event, dating back to 1952.
Many local groups plan to participate in the annual tradition.
At Noon, the North Augusta Mayor's Prayer Luncheon will be held at the North Augusta Community Center. The Pastor Emeritus at Grace United Methodist Church will speak. The cost is twelve dollars.
Also at Noon in Aiken, everyone is invited to meet at the corner of Laurens and Hayne Avenue for one hour of prayer.
Augusta's mayor and the South Augusta Pastor's alliance will hold a National day of prayer service at Sacred Heart Cultural Center at 7:00 p.m.
There is also a prayer and praise rally tonight at whole life ministries in Augusta. That event begins at 7:00 p.m.
