Augusta, GA (WJBF) — It's a busy time at Aquinas High School, and maybe nobody knows that better than James Leonard.

The girls soccer team is preparing for a state semifinal game, and the football team is going through spring practice, and James Leonard is coaching both teams at the same time.

Leonard is the head girls soccer coach at Aquinas, and his team takes on Fellowship Christian Tuesday night at 6:30 at Aquinas. He's also running football practice following the departure of head coach Matt LeZotte (to Wayne County). The toughest part for Coach Leonard is that both practices run concurrently, so he actually walks back and forth between the 2 practice fields. He says he has great assistant coaches on both teams who help make his job easier.

Leonard says he is one of the finalists to be the next head football coach at Aquinas. He says a decision is expected to be made sometime this week. While he is excited about that potential opportunity, he says he's focused on his girls soccer team avenging last year's quarterfinal loss to Fellowship Christian, this time in the final four of Class A, Tuesday night.
