A suspect is sought in North Augusta after the theft of 13 cell phones valued at nearly $8,000 from the Knox Avenue Wal-Mart location.

A North Augusta Department of Public Safety spokesperson tells us, on Tuesday, April 23rd around 3:25 a.m., the suspect went behind the counter in the electronics department at the store, broke the glass to the sliding door, and stole the cell phones.

Investigators say the suspect placed the cell phones in a suitcase he obtained from Wal-Mart. The suspect arrived and left in a silver or gold Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury.
