Aquinas Girls Fall in semis, Westside Baseball Splits

Augusta, GA (WJBF) — The Aquinas girls soccer team saw their season come to a heartbreaking end Tuesday night in the GHSA 1-A state semifinals. Fellowship Christian scored a goal with less than a minute to play to beat the Fighting Irish 2-1.

3 local teams remain alive in the GHSA baseball playoffs. At Westside High School, the Patriots lost game 1 of their doubleheader, handled Lovett 6-3 in game 2. That forced a decisive game 3 on Wednesday at 4:00.

On the road in 5-A, Greenbrier swept a doubleheader at East Paulding 7-3, 4-1. Evans, playing at Pope, split their doubleheader 2-10, 11-6. They'll play a deciding game on Wednesday.
