Recently, we told you about tornado victims in south Augusta that are in favor of putting up severe weather sirens in Richmond County.
Right now, there are only a few sirens on Georgia Regents University's downtown campus.
We took your questions of installing sirens straight to one Augusta Commissioner.
Bill Fennoy says tornado sirens would keep residents informed, “I would entertain that discussion. I think that if this area is under a tornado watch then the residents need to have warning so they can take the necessary precautions.”
Fennoy says he will bring up the emergency siren proposal to Commission because he feels people need to be warned during severe weather or chemical spills.
