Barnwell, SC-

No sleeping-in in Barnwell this morning… as hundreds turned out to support a worthy cause.

Team Zeta was out in full-force at Sweetwater Country Club, hosting their 4th annual golf tournament and inaugural 5K Run/Walk in honor of Zeta Brabham.

Jeremy Lehman was the overall male top finisher, while Ellie Porter top top overall time for female racers.

Zeta was born with multiple special needs. She spent much of her life in hospitals, but she always had a smile on her little face.

Trina Burt is the founder of the prayer warriors Facebook page, “Team Zeta.”

“It grew fast, and all of these people have been praying. It's been amazing the encouragement they've had and that they have felt from the community, and it's also been amazing to see this community come together and help this family as much as they can.”

Zeta died last week.,. she was 3 years old. The family hopes to continue the golf and 5K as memorial events, to raise funds for other families with special needs children.

Those of you watching in Barnwell know your community lost a little angel a week ago.  Zeta Brabham was just 3 years old. Her little life was filled with hospital stays and numerous surgeries. Zeta was diagnosed with CHARGE Syndrome within weeks after she was born and was treated in Children's Hospitals across the country.

She was loved by her family, her big brothers Chancelor and Steven, and all those who knew her.

This Saturday, May 18th, is a day for the family to say thanks through a couple of events that were scheduled before Zeta died.
The Team Zeta 5K Run/Walk starts at 8am at Sweetwater Country Club. Registration takes place from 7am to 7:30am. The cost is $25. So far, 150 runners have signed up for the big race!
The 4th annual Team Zeta Golf Tournament follows the race. It's already full.
Proceeds benefit Zeta's family and the medical expenses they've incurred, plus the Project Hope mentoring program at Barnwell Primary School.
