Greenbrier Sweeps Doubleheader to Get Back to State Finals

Whitewater, GA (WJBF) — It was a rematch of the 2012 state semifinals, and 2013 followed the same script. Greenbrier defeated Whitewater for the second straight to make it to the state finals for the second straight year.

The Wolfpack may have swept the doubleheader, but it certainly wasn't easy. They trailed 4 nothing in game one before rallying to win it 5-4 in 9 innings. Then in game two, they trailed 2 nothing before surging ahead for a 6-3 win.

Greenbrier will now play in the GHSA 5-A state championship series starting with a doubleheader on Saturday. They will play either Starr's Mill or Pope. That series is going to a decisive game 3 on Tuesday.

The Wolfpack lost to Loganville in the 4-A state finals last year.
