Richmond County Sheriff''s Office deputies and investigators are on the hunt for a shooting suspect.
Investigators tell us, at approximately 9:21 a.m. Thursday morning, the Richmond County Sheriff's Office responded to 2031 2nd Avenue, in Augusta, in reference to shots fired with one subject shot.
Upon deputies' arrival it was found that the victim 26-year-old Matthew Leverett Wilson, of the same address, was suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the chest. Wilson was transported to Georgia Regents Medical Center and is listed in serious but stable condition.
During the investigation, it was learned that Wilson got into an argument with the suspect, 27-year-old DeShawn Demetrius Lowe (last known address of 2131 A Street, in Augusta) and as Wilson approached Lowe he was shot by Lowe in the chest.
Warrants are currently being applied for on Lowe for the charges of Aggravated Assault/Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Anyone with information on Lowe's whereabouts is asked to contact the Richmond County Sheriff's Office at 706-821-1080.

Richmond County dispatch has confirmed that investigators are on the scene of shooting where one person is reportedly injured.
It happened around 9:15am at 2031 2nd Avenue in downtown Augusta.
No word on any suspects at this time.
