An arrest has been made in connection to a stabbing that happened on Second Avenue in North Augusta early Friday morning.
The Aiken County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call about a stabbing at 12:51 a.m. Friday morning. Deputies responded to a location near 356 Second Avenue, in North Augusta, where they located the victim who had been stabbed.
The victim stated that he and the suspect, 29-year-old Jonathan Robert Jones, were involved in a verbal argument when Jones attacked him with a sharp object. According to the incident report, the victim was cut on his left forearm and to his side.
A search of the area for the suspect was conducted by deputies who found Jones hiding in an abandoned residence near the crime scene.
Jones was arrested and taken to the Aiken County Detention Center where charges of Attempted Murder are expected.
The victim was transported to Georgia Regents Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
