The Greenrbrier baseball team's run to the GHSA 5A state championship came to an end on Saturday, with the Wolfpack dropping two games at Pope High School to finish runner up for a second straight year.

In game one, the Wolfpack held a 5-3 lead in the 7th inning before Pope tied the game to send it to extra innings. Greenbrier scored 2 runs in the 8th to take a 7-5 lead, but Pope answered with a walk off grand slam in the bottom half of the inning to take game one 11-7.

In game 2, Greenbrier jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before Pope answered with 13 runs in the 4th inning en route to a 15-5 win in 5 innings.

In 2012, Greenbrier fell on the road to Loganville in the 4A state championship. Chris Wilkins' team hasn't won a title since 2007.
