WJBF School REport

Columbia County Board of Education members will meet Tuesday to find ways to make up for a nearly $5 million budget shortfall.

One option is to increase property taxes by increasing the millage rate by 1 percent.

Another option is to give teachers 2 furlough days which could save $750,000 per year.

School leaders will finalize and approve the budget June 4th.
