Get up and move was the big theme at Brandon Wilde on Wednesday.
It was all to help celebrate the 20th annual National Senior Health and Fitness Day.
Some residents and staff began bright and early with a couch to 5K run.
There were other activities to encourage movement, such as hula dancing and lawn games.
Staff members say it's a great opportunity to educate seniors about the importance of physical activity.
“It's a day that focuses on physical activity and fitness, reminding people how good it is to get up and move and do. Whether it's putting the roses in the garden, bean bag toss, or running…all different levels of activity,” says Brandon Wilde's Physical Activities director, Judi Johnson.
Brandon Wilde is the only continuing care retirement community in the area that does participate in National Senior Health and Fitness Day.
