A woman has been arrested in Augusta after reportedly fleeing from Aiken County with her children without court permission.
The Aiken County Sheriff's Office with the assistance of the Richmond County Sheriff's Office located 24-year-old Erica Timpson and her children, 4-year-old Eriyana Timpson and twin 2-year-old sons, Janiah Griffin and Jeremiah Griffin, at 2915 Vanessa Drive, in Augusta.
Timpson was arrested and taken to the Richmond County Detention Center in reference to a warrant obtained by Aiken County Investigators. The children have been placed in the custody of South Carolina Department of Social Services.
The warrant for Timpson's arrest was taken out after, on June 5th, the South Carolina Department of Social Services obtained a court order from a Family Court judge, placing Timpson's children in the custody of the Department of Social Services. Timpson was made aware of the court order, reportedly removed her children from the alternative caregiver's residence, and fled Aiken County.
Investigators believed that Timpson and her children were dropped off at an unknown convenience store on Broad Street, in Augusta. Further information revealed that Timpson has made threats to harm the children, as well as herself. Investigators obtained a warrant for Timpson's arrest, in reference to Custodial Interference and believed the children were in danger.
