As the NBA Finals rolled into game four on Thursday, an NBA legend rolled into Augusta. Hall of Famer Bill Walton was at Doctors Hospital to give a speech at a spinal health seminar.
He was joined by former UFC fighter Nate “Rock” Quarry, visiting patients and speaking with doctor's about their respective recoveries from back surgery.
Walton, who has undergone 37 orthopedic surgeries over the years, says he's pain free for the first time since before he started playing basketball thanks to a recent spinal operation.
“When my spine failed six years ago, my life was over,” Walton said. “But now I go around the country as a volunteer – to convince people that there is life after back surgery.”
We asked the two time NBA champion about his take on this NBA Finals between the Spurs and the Heat; Walton took the middle ground and said the Spurs will win if they are able to stop LeBron James.
