Free Community Meeting on Public Charter Schools

WJBF School REport

It's known as Amendment One, or the Charter School Amendment, and Georgians voted to pass it on Election Day.

The amendment says state or local governments can now approve public charter schools based only on a request from their communities.

If you're confused about what charter schools are or how they operate, you can attend a free community meeting Monday night in Augusta.

The Georgia Charter Schools Association hopes this meeting will increase understanding of public charter schools and help answer questions.
