Augusta's city lawyer is under the gun.
City leaders scheduled tonight to hold a vote of no confidence on law department general counsel Andrew Mackenzie.
Mackenzie's job is to advice the commissioners, but some city leaders say they no longer want his advice.
“The city attorney has not done the job an attorney ought to do I say all the time we pay people to keep us out of trouble not just after we get into trouble the lawyer ought to advise us he's a real politician he goes on whoever he has six votes if he sees he has six votes on his side that's where he is,” says Commissioner Marion Williams.
Commissioner Bill Lockett put the rare vote of no confidence on Tuesday's agenda.
