One Person Arrested, Two Still Sought In Richmond County Shooting

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office has arrested one person and two others are sought after a Thursday shooting.

Investigators say, around 1:00 p.m. Thursday, dispatch received a call to 2526 Milledgeville Road (Augusta Estates Mobile Home Park) regarding a shooting with a possible injured person.

Upon deputies' arrival, it was learned that a physical altercation was about to take place between 28-year-old Marcus Hilliard and 28-year-old Lewis Harmon, both of the above listed address. Investigators say, 26-year-old Tiffany Lewis, of the same address, came outside brandishing an unknown type handgun and fired one shot. During this incident, investigators say Harmon produced an unknown type handgun and shot an unknown number of rounds. Investigation revealed that Hilliard sustained a gunshot wound to the upper right thigh and was subsequently transported to Georgia Regents Medical Center for medical treatment.

Due to conflicting stories on behalf of the people involved, including witnesses, investigators were unable to determine who was the actual suspect.

Investigators say they decided “in the interest of justice and for the safety of the community” to secure arrest warrants on all individuals involved.

Lewis is in custody and charged with one count of Reckless Conduct, Hilliard is still sought on one count of Reckless Conduct, and Harmon is still sought on) one count of Reckless Conduct and one felony count of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
