Augusta, GA (WJBF) — It was a rare weekday day game for the GreenJackets Wednesday afternoon at Lake Olmstead Stadium. In fact they have only 2 of them scheduled all season. This one was a special one for the kids. It was Super Splash Day at Lake Olmstead Stadium. The kids were treated to slides, a Cool zone, and were sprayed with water hoses and squirt guns to help keep them cool. Over 800 kids from local summer camps, YMCA camps, and other programs attended the event in the midday heat and fun was had by all. This is an annual event held by the GreenJackets.

Unfortunately, the GreenJackets offense failed to make a splash scoring only one run, and they fell to the Sand Gnats 5-1. The GreenJackets start a 7 game road trip in Asheville on Thursday. Their next home game in on the 4th of July.
