A man who formerly lived in Augusta and Savannah was arrested Friday in connection to an extortion scheme targeting Paula Deen.

Thomas George Paculis, 62, was arrested in Newfield, New York by FBI agents, along with deputies from the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office in Newfield.

Paculis was arrested on a federal complaint filed by FBI Atlanta's Savannah Resident Agency charging him with violation of Title 18 USC Section 875 (d), extortion.
