Sunday the New York Yankees hosted 4,000 people from Newtown Connecticut. They held a special pre-game ceremony to honor the victims lost in last year's school shooting.
A spokesperson for the city said that the ceremony was meaningful, but that they are working to move on, “what happened to us is something that will never be forgotten but we're
learning to integrate it into who we are, not let it control us, not be
defined by it quite as much.”
Several weeks ago the Boston Red Sox honored the Connecticut State Police officers who served as first responders at Sandy Hook by bringing the troopers and their families to their game, and having players thank them.
