Flash Flood Warning For Portions Of CSRA

The National Weather Service, in Columbia, South carolina has issued a Flash Flood Warning for portion of the CSRA.

Affected are:

Southeastern Columbia County and northern Richmond County, including Fort Gordon.

This Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 3:45 p.m. Wednesday.

At 2:04 p.m. National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated slow moving thunderstorms…continuing to produce very heavy rain over the warned area. Radar estimated that 3 inches of rain had fallen near the Columbia County/Richmond County line near Interstate 20. The heaviest rain had fallen over the Raes Creek Basin…as well as Reed Creek and Forest Creek subdivision. Additional heavy rain is expected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions:

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams…urban areas…highways…streets and underpasses, as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
