Richmond County Coroner Grover Tuten confirmed Monday that the man whose body was found in a parked car at a shopping center died of a drug overdose.
Tuten said 21-year-old Dayton Counsell died of multiple drug intoxication and alcohol intoxication. He said methylone, which is commonly found in the drug “spice,” methamphetamines and alcohol were in Counsell's system.
Counsell's body was found in a vehicle at the Washington Square Shopping Center in May. The shopping center is home to the The Country Club and Hooters, among other businesses.
