OK…It seems TV has gone
to the dogs.  Literally.

There's soon to be a new
television channel for 78 million potential viewers — who were previously

That's because it is
strictly for the dogs

Dog T-V launches August
1st.  But will your pups pay

Dan Harris has more…

For anyone who's ever seen their dog
freak out about stuff on the t-v screen … the idea may have appeal.

“Dog TV,” the first 24-hour
cable channel for canines.

It's designed to alternately relax and
stimulate your dog while you're out.. to reduce separation anxiety and improve

“We might color the red just a
little bit red because the dogs don't see it so well.  This hasn't just been put together, this has
been really well thought out and well designed”

But can dogs really see what's on t-v?

Experts disagree on this issue…
although the answer seems to be “yes” judging by YouTube… where
there is a strange abundance of dogs enjoying “law and order”… and
where we found this husky clearly displeased when his TV time is cut off…and
also this bulldog who I would love to hang out with.

So… does Dog TV work? We conducted a
mini focus group in my office with Italian Greyhounds Joey and Molly who
honestly seem more interested in our cameras than anything else

Veterinarian Ann Hohenhaus popped by
to make an important point: while DogTV may work for some pets…you do have to
play with them when you come home.

“So I don't think just having the
TV on is the entire solution to the whole problem”

However, she admits, if you have a
hyperactive canine, Dog TV could be worth the price… if it gets your dog to
stop gnawing the furniture… and just… for a few moments, at least… do
