Have you ever wondered about your family’s history?

The Augusta Genealogy Society held its annual Spring workshop, “Folllowing Footprints is Fun” at the Augusta Richmond County Library today.

Attendees listened to lectures about how to keep files and records of family members.

Most people’s family history goes back hundreds of years.

Nancy Lindroth, President of the Augusta Genealogy Society says, “Genealogy is the basic research of your family line. So it would start with me and then it would be my parents and then it would be their parents and then it would be their parents and it doubles every generation.”

At the seminar people asked how to get started finding information about loved ones that have passed. Genealogy society members taught new members how to research family lines dating back all the way to the Revolutionary War.
