There’s a new direction at Augusta Municipal Golf course.
The city links is under new management, with a Florida company taking over Tuesday.
In May Commissioners voted unanimously to contract with the Cypress Golf Management company to run the troubled and neglected course.
Officials are excited by the challenge and say change will happen over time.
“I feel very comfortable in saying you come out here and you play golf every week you’ll probably notice something different everyday today we got new flags new flag sticks and new cups next week they might just be little things that’s what were after just little improvements we’re trying to walk ,” says John Fogel, of Cypress Golf Management.
The contract calls for the company to be paid $3,000 a month for three years.
After that, the fee goes to $5,000, and the company will also get 30% of Patch profits.
