The Director of South Carolina’s Department of Health and Environmental Control announced her resignation at a board meeting Thursday.
Catherine Templeton said her resignation will take effect January 12th. She said she has fulfilled her four year obligation to South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.
“I’m looking forward to serving the state from a different position,” said Templeton.
Templeton was appointed to Governor Haley’s first cabinet in 2010 as the state Secretary of Labor, after a long career in the manufacturing industry. She moved to DHEC in 2011.
