Calling into Question the rules on the Augusta commission.
Commissioner Marion Williams is taking issue with Mayor Hardie Davis’s handling of Tuesday’s commission meeting.
Davis ended the debate on one topic by calling the question.
Marion Williams says that’s not proper and will take it up at Monday’s Committee meetings.
“He called for the question the mayor can’t call for no question he can’t make any motions he can’t do that I asked the attorney to step forward and explain where we are what we are doing he wouldn’t say a word,” said Williams suggesting it’s time for a new city attorney.
Williams says the city attorney failed when he did not tell the mayor that, under city rules, only a commissioner can call for the question.
Williams has placed the item up for discussion at Monday’s Administrative Services Committee meeting.
