We had a few early morning showers then sunshine broke out allowing temps to warm to the upper 70s and low 80s. The official high at Augusta’s Bush Field hit 81 breaking the old record of 78 set in 1929. That’s the fifth time this month we’ve set or tied a record and the tenth time we’ve hit 70s plus
Very unsettled weather is headed our way this weekend. Showers and thunderstorms will move into the CSRA Saturday morning and continue through the late afternoon. Some of the storms could be severe. Another round of storms will push through our area on Sunday. There is also a the possibly of severe weather. The main threats will be heavy rain, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. Stay tuned to News Channel 6 through out the weekend for updates.
A few showers will linger on Monday. Sunshine will return for Tuesday and Wednesday with cooler high temps in the 60s.
