DADE CITY, Fla. – The No. 3 University of South Carolina Aiken golf team finished fourth at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional, enabling the squad to earn a berth in the upcoming NCAA Division II National Championship.
Head coach Michael Carlisle’s team finished the three-day tournament with a combined score of 876. The team posted scores of 293-290-293, tallying a score of 11-over par.
Nova Southeastern won the event with an 845 while Lynn (855) and Barry (875) rounded out the top three.
Redshirt-freshman Johnson Holliday concluded the tournament with a three-under par, 213, taking sixth.
Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year Brandon Robinson-Thompson posted a six-over par, 222, after wrapping up the tournament with a three-over par Wednesday. He finished in a tie for 28th.
Axel Ostensson and Andrew Ward tied for 33rd at the tournament. Both shot scores of seven-over par, 223. Ostensson fired an even-par 72 Wednesday while Ward was three-over par, for his final score.
Hubert Tisserand tallied a nine-over par, 225, for the event. His score was good enough for a 46th-place effort.
PBC foes Georgia Southwestern (888) finished ninth while Columbus State (896) was 13th. Flagler was 15th (909) and Georgia College placed 19th (937).
The Pacers return to action May 18-22 at the NCAA Division II National Championship, which will take place in Conover, N.C., and is hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne.
