Lt. Allan Rollins tells us, according to City of Augusta officials, Jordan had not been terminated, but had been sent home for the day after an earlier disagreement with Theron Wilson.

More information has come to light in the shooting that happened Tuesday afternoon at Augusta’s Cedar Grove Cemetery.
According to Lieutenant Allan Rollins, with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 1:15 pm Tuesday afternoon, deputies received a call to a person having been shot at Cedar Grove Cemetery on the 100 block of Watkins Street.
Upon arrival, deputies found 43-year-old Theron Wilson, who is a supervisor with Trees and Parks for the City of Augusta had been shot one time in the abdomen and was conscious and alert.
Wilson was transported to Georgia Regents Medical Center by ambulance for treatment.
The suspect, 47-year-old Ed Willie Jordan Jr., of the 300 block of East Boundary, reportedly fled the scene on a bicycle. Jordan was a former employee of the City of Augusta at the cemetery.
Deputies and investigators took Jordan into custody on the 1600 block of Gordon Highway around 3:20 p.m. where he was still riding the bicycle. Jordan is currently being interviewed and charges are pending.

A cemetery is known as a peaceful place for the dead, but behind a gate at one of Augusta’s cemeteries, there was some not so peaceful action here earlier. Take a look.
One woman was so heartbroken that she fell to the ground.
Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deputies say the shooting happened at Cedar Grove Cemetery around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
We are told the shooting was between 2 city workers in the Augusta Department of Recreation, Parks and Facilities. Several other city workers witnessed what happened and they now have the option to talk to a grief counselor.
“Trees and Parks is setting up a service to make sure they are going to be okay. Trees and Parks is talking to its employees at this time,” Lieutenant Allan Rollins, of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, told us.
The victim is now at Georgia Regents Medical Center. There is no word, at this time, on his condition.
The suspect in this shooting was arrested late Tuesday afternoon. No names have been released at this time.

WJBF News Channel 6 has learned there has been a shooting at Augusta’s Cedar Grove Cemetery.
According to Augusta City Administrator Janice Jackson, the shooting involved two city employees.
One person was transported to Georgia Regents Medical Center. We are told Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deputies are currently searching for the suspect in this shooting.
