According to the Department of Natural Resources, the body of Christopher Lee Harper was found at West Dam around 7:40 a.m. Tuesday June 2, 2015.

Crews continue the search for a man who went missing in J. Strom Thurmond Lake after falling off a water craft.

The accident happened last Monday near the West Dam Recreation Area, in Appling, Georgia.

Witnesses report that 43-year-old Christopher Lee Harper was doing circles on the water craft, when he fell off and never resurfaced.

Officials don’t believe he was wearing a life jacket.

Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) personnel are back out on the water searching for Harper.

Harper, who works in Cardiopulmonary and Respiratory Therapy at McDuffie County’s University Hospital facility, is married with one daughter.
