Lincoln County Sheriff Bruce Beggs tells us, 31-year-old Ashley Brown Reed, of the 1000 block of Cheyenne Drive, in Lincolnton, was booked into the Lincoln County Jail Wednesday afternoon.
Reed was arrested after her husband, former Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy Brandon Reed, was arrested on a charge of Simple Battery, following an incident at their residence on Sunday, May 24th. She was also charged with Simple Battery.
Ashley Reed appeared before a Lincoln County Magistrate Court Judge, and was released on a $2,500 bond. The cases against both Reeds were transferred to Lincoln County Superior Court for disposition at a later date.

WJBF News Channel 6 has learned a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy is no longer with the department after being charged with Simple Battery.
Brandon Reed, 28, of the 1000 block of Cheyenne Drive, in Lincolnton, Georgia was charged following an incident which took place at his home on Sunday, May 24th.
He was released on a $2,500 bond following a hearing before a Lincoln County Magistrate Judge.
Reed, who has been a patrol deputy with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office for approximately two years, was not on duty at the time of the alleged incident and he submitted his resignation on Tuesday.
A warrant for Simple Battery was also issued for Ashley Brown Reed on a charge of Simple Battery in connection with the same incident. She has not yet been taken into custody.
