Fort Gordon, GA – Happy Birthday to the Army.

Fort Gordon is celebrating the Army’s 240th birthday today.

They’ll begin with a 5k run followed by a cake cutting ceremony.

News Channel 6’s, Margaret-Ann Carter is live outside of Fort Gordon.

And Margaret-Ann the celebration will begin shortly.

There will be a 5k run that will kick off at 6:30 a.m.

Then at 7:30 a.m. there will be a cake cutting ceremony at the Barton Field Amphitheater.

And we’re told that’s going to be a packed ceremony.

The youngest officer and youngest enlisted soldier on the installation will assist several others in the cake cutting ceremony.
