NORTH AUGUSTA, SC — News Channel 6 has learned what the city of North Augusta spent to fight the Project Jackson lawsuit.
We did an Open Records Request and found out that the city spent $231,358.27 to pay for attorneys.
The city paid $173,260.10 for the tax increment financing litigation and $58,098.17 for the tax increment financing appeal.
The city could have to pay Steve Donohue’s attorney fees as well because of a Freedom of Information Act violation.
City leaders are hoping the new GreenJackets baseball stadium will be ready by Spring 2017.
