Tracking Chance of Severe Storms Saturday

Storm Prediction Center has placed the CSRA in a SLIGHT RISK fore severe storms Saturday afternoon and evening.


The CSRA will be under the threat for isolated severe thunderstorms Saturday afternoon.

A strong cold front will bring in plenty of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. With daytime heating, the atmosphere will become unstable by 2 PM. Storms are expected to begin and could last through 8 PM. Lingering showers will continue into the night, but the severe weather risk should lessen after sunset.

The risk area will encompass the entire Channel 6 viewing area. The Storm Prediction Center has place this area in a SLIGHT RISK for strong and severe storms.The main threat will be damaging winds in excess of 60 mph with some of the stronger storms. An isolated tornado and hail cannot be ruled out.
