Augusta, GA – The suspect in a murder that happened back in April on 2nd Avenue in Augusta appeared before a judge and had his bond set.
Carl Jones, 40, was arrested on Thursday July 2nd. He was wanted in connection to the murder of John Lee Jones, of the 1000 block of 12th Avenue, on Tuesday, April 7th at 11:41 p.m. on the 2100 block of 2nd Avenue.
Jones was located by the United States Marshal’s Service Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at a home on the 2700 block of Richmond Hill Road, in Augusta.
Jones was booked into the Charles B. Webster Detention Center, and charged with Murder, Possession of a Firearm or Knife During the Commission of a Crime, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and 2 counts of Criminal Damage to Property 2nd Degree.
He was denied bond on the Murder charge, but his bond on the Possession of a Firearm or Knife During the Commission of a Crime charge was set at $7,900. His bond on the Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon charge was set at $5,700. His bond of the 2 counts of Criminal Damage to Property 2nd Degree charges was set at $2,400 for each charge.
