Waynesboro, GA – An investigation is underway into a deadly shooting in Burke County.
Burke County Coroner Susan Salemi, tells us that Samuel D. Freeman died of a gunshot wound to the torso. He also received gunshot wounds to the right leg.
The shooting happened on the 800 block of Cedar Street around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday night.
Freeman died at Georgia Regents Medical Center. with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Waynesboro Police Department. He was transported to Burke County Medical Center before officers arrived on the scene of the shooting.

The death has been ruled a firearms-related homicide.
The Waynesboro Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) are currently investigating Freeman’s death.
