The boil water advisory in effect for parts of Edgefield County has been lifted.
Late Tuesday night the Edgefield County Water and Sewer Authority repealed the advisory for customers in and around the areas of Bergan Road from Brighton Place to Willowwick Road and surrounding areas and side streets affected by a leak on Monday. Residents in the area no longer need to boil their water prior to drinking it or cooking with it.
Officials said the flushed the distribution system and collected and analyzed bacteriological samples. They said the results indicate the system is safe for drinking or cooking.
Any customers with questions should call the Authority at (803) 637-3011.
