Orangeburg,SC- South Carolina State University is planning to shut down buildings to save money.
Interim president, Franklin Evans, says the school is closing 9 to but back on costs.
Reports say Evans told the board of trustees last week about the plan.
He says all the buildings are old and heated by inefficient boiler systems.

Artifacts will be placed in another location. University leaders say the school would save up to $1.7 million a year by closing the buildings.
