Hephzibah, GA – An elderly Augusta man has been charged with Non-Aggravated Child Molestation after being found in Hephzibah having inappropriate sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl.

The man has been identified as 82-year-old Ervin Ray Turner, of the 3300 block of Oak Ridge Drive, in Augusta.

A Richmond County deputy responded to 3939 Lace Road, in Hephzibah, around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday in reference to a suspicious vehicle parked on the property.

When the deputy arrived, a Ford F150 pickup truck was found in a wooded area on the property. According to the incident report, as the deputy approached the truck, he saw the passenger side door was open. When the deputy went around the truck, he found Turner in nothing but his underwear and shoes, and a 14-year-old girl.

Turner was reportedly performing a sex act on the girl. As the deputy got near Turner’s side, he reportedly looked up slightly and smiled at the girl before looking at the deputy and continuing to smile.

The deputy told them to stop and get dressed. The deputy then reportedly told Turner to go to the deputy’s car and the deputy approached the girl. The deputy noticed the girl looked really young and asked her her age. She told the deputy she was 15. The incident report stated her age as 14.

The deputy then took Turner into custody and when he was being detained, Turner reportedly told the deputy he served 30 years in the Army and asked the deputy to “give him a break”. The deputy responded to Turner and told him he would not get a break for this and Turner told the deputy “Come on man we didn’t have sex, I only kissed it a little”.

Turner was booked into the Charles B. Webster Detention Center. The girl was taken back to her mother’s house.
