Weekend meals and Sunday suppers in the summer often involve marinating a ribeye, flank steak or beef tips and then throwing them on the grill as our main course. This week’s Balsamic Beef Marinade is my go-to marinade and it only takes a few minutes and some pantry staples to prepare. I’m going to use the recipe today to grill up some flavorful beef tips.
Combine some soy sauce and balsamic vinegar, along with brown sugar and minced fresh garlic. Now season to taste with freshly ground black pepper.
Whether you’re using the marinade on beef tips or a big, juicy steak, I like to marinate the meat for at least two hours. For beef tips, that’s the perfect amount of time, but for whole steaks I like to marinate the meat in a bag overnight in the fridge.
Grill the skewers for about 8-10 minutes total for medium-rare, longer for more well-done. Just turn every few minutes to cook in every side.
This simple marinade is always a hit and unlike prepared marinades at the supermarket, it contains just a few simple ingredients. Some grilled zucchini and mushrooms can complete your Sunday steak menu.
