Warrenville, SC – The Glover Grove Missionary Baptist Church is continuing to pick up the pieces after a fire destroyed their church in June.

A non-profit group, Samaritan’s Purse, came from North Carolina to begin the demolition of what is left of the church. Samaritan’s Purse is a group headed by Reverend Franklyn Graham. Most people will recognize Samaritan’s Purse as the group responsible for Operation Christmas Child. Rev. Graham is the son of Reverend Billy Graham.

The group expects to be done with demolition by Friday. We spoke with the assistant manager of the disaster relief crew about why he travels year-round, donating this service that could cost tens of thousands of dollars – for free.

“I just have the privileged of traveling all over the United States after disasters, helping people that have been affected by normally natural causes, but we know that sometimes it’s man-made disasters,” said Todd Taylor.
