Richmond County Deputy Charged After Crashing Patrol Car

AUGUSTA, Ga. – According to an incident report received from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy involved in an overnight accident was Deputy Denzel Brown.

The incident report states Deputy Brown was responding to a call for assistance from another deputy on Peach Orchard Road and Harold Drive.

Deputy Brown lost control of his vehicle while attempting to slow down. The vehicle slide to the right, spun clockwise and then went over the curb at the Sonic Drive-In on Peach Orchard Road.

The vehicle’s left side struck Sonic’s exit sign and then continued to slide in the grass stopping after hitting a Georgia Power utility pole.

Deputy Brown was charged with driving too fast for conditions.


AUGUSTA, Ga. – Richmond County Dispatch confirms to WJBF News Channel 6 that a deputy was involved in an overnight car accident.

It happened on Peach Orchard Road just before 2 a.m.

We are told it was a single vehicle accident.

The deputy was not injured.
